Rosa - Original

Rosa explores masculinity, sexuality and self-expression. Dan presents a muscular, tattooed figure in profile, then disrupts traditionally masculine visual codes with vivid pink roses and decorative details.

The work has a particularly rich, tactile surface, combining paint, collage and heavily textured elements throughout the composition. Fragments of text, imagery and pattern build around the figure, adding layers of character and visual detail.

Within the PERSONAE collection, Rosa reflects Dan’s wider fascination with identity as something complex, layered and open to reinvention.
