About Dan & Serg
Dan & Serg are a Sussex-based artistic duo working across painting and photography. Partners in life as well as in art, their creative practices are distinct but closely connected, shaped by a shared fascination with people, identity and observation.
Serg works predominantly through photography, capturing intimate portraits and fleeting moments that might otherwise pass unnoticed. Dan works across figurative painting and drawing, transforming observations through colour, atmosphere and imagination.
Living and working together creates a constant exchange of ideas. A person, photograph or passing moment that catches Serg's eye might become the starting point for one of Dan's paintings; in turn, seeing those subjects reimagined through Dan's work can offer a new way of looking at the original image.
Their individual perspectives remain their own, but continually inform and inspire one another.

Serg's practice encompasses portraiture, street photography and predominantly black-and-white imagery, driven by a fascination with people and the moments that unfold around them.
From carefully considered portrait sittings to strangers encountered on the street, his photography invites us to pause over individuals and moments that might otherwise pass unnoticed.

Dan & Serg’s first collaborative exhibition, PERSONAE, brings their practices together through a new collection of figurative painting and photography.
Exploring identity, observation and the theatre of everyday life, PERSONAE brings together a cast of individuals encountered, photographed and imagined by the artists – from intimate portraits and street photography to large-scale figurative paintings.

Bespoke Portrait Sessions
Dan & Serg also work together on bespoke portrait sessions, creating work that can move from photography into painting.
Beginning with a photoshoot with Serg, selected images can become the starting point for an original painting by Dan, allowing a single portrait to be interpreted through both artists' practices.
Sessions are available for individuals, couples and creatives looking for something personal, expressive and considered.
