Pink Rubbish - Original

Pink Rubbish draws on Dan Flores’ memories of working life and the everyday characters that populated the world around him growing up. A dustman is captured mid-task, transforming an ordinary moment of physical labour into a study of character and movement.

The painting reflects Dan’s interest in men at work and the visual language of masculinity, while its softened, almost nostalgic palette gives the remembered scene a dreamlike quality. The flash of pink rubbish brings unexpected colour to an otherwise ordinary moment.
