Mokum - Limited Edition Print

Mokum takes us into the streets of Amsterdam, bringing together a colourful cast of characters in one of Dan Flores’ densely detailed imagined scenes. The title comes from Mokum, an affectionate nickname for Amsterdam, derived from the Yiddish word for “place”.

From couples and passers-by to larger-than-life figures appearing in windows and along the canal, Dan mixes observation, humour and imagination to capture the city’s famously open-minded character. A canal bridge, bicycles and waterside life root the drawing unmistakably in Amsterdam, while the exaggerated personalities and intimate encounters give it Dan’s own playful twist.
