Double Trouble - Original
Double Trouble captures two near-identical figures dressed in matching pink dresses, white bows and dark boots, their mirrored appearance immediately playing with ideas of doubling and identity.
Despite their matching personas, Dan gives each figure her own presence through subtle differences in pose, expression and gesture. The theatrical styling feels deliberately heightened, while the intense pinks and loose, expressive brushwork bring energy to the composition.
Within the PERSONAE collection, the work plays with the idea that appearance can create a role or character, while individuality can still emerge from beneath the costume.
