Buzz - Original

Buzz captures the ritual of transformation, showing a tattooed man midway through having his hair clipped. Rather than presenting a finished portrait, Dan focuses on the process itself - a moment in which appearance and identity are actively being shaped.

The sitter’s tattoos, muscular physique and closely cropped hair create a strong visual character, while the presence of the barber draws attention to the work that goes into constructing an outward appearance.

Within the PERSONAE collection, Buzz reflects on grooming, adornment and the everyday ways we alter and present ourselves to the world.
